WEMBLEY INTERNATIONAL & ENGLISH FOOTBALL TOUR 2023
Wembley Stadium, London

Goal by Goal: Reliving the Experience of our Wembley and English Football Tour 2023

Driven by the magnetic pull of arguably the greatest football league in the world – the English Premier League – Real Deal Sports Tours designed and delivered an unparalleled football journey – the Wembley and English Football Tour 2023.

On the memorable evening of Friday, 13th October, our tour guests joined forces with thousands of traveling and ex-pat Aussie fans to witness the first game our Socceroos have ever played at the iconic Wembley Stadium, as we took on hosts, England, in the first of a total of up to 9 games in 13 days. Branded as a unique football adventure, the tour lived up to its promise, with the group’s resoundingly positive endorsement of our committed tagline that “There’s nothing like being there!”

How We Started The Tour

The 12-night tour kicked off with a fabulous Welcome Dinner at White Horse, Wembley at which everyone met their fellow travellers on this epic journey. The nearby Novotel Wembley served as our cosy home base for 6 nights, providing convenient access to Wembley Stadium, the Wembley Park underground station and a host of other dining and entertainment options.

In scintillatingly good weather, our first full day commenced with an eye-opening, behind-the-scenes tour of Wembley Stadium, the first of four incredible stadium tours. Having been at the heaving, sold-out the game the night before, it was amazing to see it up close on the morning after, together with Wembley’s fantastic museum, showcasing the rich history of both this stadium as well as the ‘old Wembley.’

England vs. Italy: Another International Spectacle Featuring Top-tier Talent

The tour didn’t stop at Wembley. Our guests embarked on exclusive tours of football meccas, including Old Trafford and Etihad Stadium, gaining insights into the respective legacies of these iconic arenas. Four nights’ hotel accommodation split between Novotel Manchester and Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village provided comfortable retreats in between the football spectacles.

The Anfield stadium tour was a highlight for our diehard Liverpool FC fans, offering an intimate look at the club’s famous home, museum and huge superstore and cafe. That night, some guests opted to cross The Mersey to attend the hugely entertaining League Two clash between Tranmere Rovers and Doncaster Rovers. Sunrise heralded our return to Anfield where everyone enjoyed hospitality seating at one of the Premier League’s most sought-after encounters, the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and neighbouring rivals, Everton. The singing of Liverpool’s famous anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone, was worth the admission fee on its own but we were also treated to goals, penalties and red cards. A truly unforgettable experience. Sunday was our casual, flexi-travel day. Some guests went to London, others to Yorkshire, while others travelled up to Scotland to watch Hearts entertain Celtic and to Birmingham to watch West Ham United take on Aston Villa.

Amidst the football excitement, the tour allowed for moments of cultural exploration. Our last full day hosted our Farewell Lunch at No 29 in the impressively re-developed Battersea Power Station and a sightseeing cruise along the famous River Thames in London providing a glimpse of the city’s rich history and globally recognisable landmarks. The day concluded with more hospitality seating at the state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the match between our very own Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham, before our chartered bus returned us to our hotel in Ealing.
